To rock or not to rock, that is the question.
Sorry to get so deep on all of you but this question has been weighing on my mind a lot lately. I mean, should I stay home Saturday night March 7th and be a 90 year old grandma and knit sweaters while watching Murder She Wrote reruns or...
Should I be a fucking Viking on a mission to quench my thirst for life's enjoyment and go out to Chief Ike's Mambo room and chug beers, dance my ass off, laugh uncontrollably and headbang to acoustic cover songs, electronic dance music, hilarious comedy, and of course the high energy live disco rock of DC FLOW at the (drum roll… wait for it…)
I think the answer is obvious. Murder She Wrote is an incredible show and knitting sweaters is soooo relaxing. But if you decide otherwise, come on out and jam with us, it's gonna be a variety show for the centuries!
The Facebook event page is here with more info. Chief Ike's is in Adams Morgan so you can either walk from the Woodley Park metro or just grab an Uber like all the kids are doing these days.

Our first music video is here featuring a new song from our upcoming EP – “Wine and Cheese!”
We tried to make it one of those awesome 80’s videos where you see the band playing live in different situations, circa Guns and Roses – “Paradise City” video, Pearl Jam’s “Evenflow” video, or even Rick Astley’s …….. wait a second! Some of you might even recognize some of this footage from our shows and can proudly exclaim - "I was there man!".
Anywho, check it out, share it on Facebook, spread the word, we’re trying to get as many views as possible for this thing!
We hope to put another video together soon and then finally put some of this new music out in the world!
Stay classy y’all!
High energy funk rockers DC FLOW release their self-titled debut EP recorded with legendary indie rock musician J. Robbins and capture the magnetic grooves and pop hooks that make the band one of the best original live acts in DC.
Washington, DC — January 1, 2012 — Just as rockers DC FLOW finished recording their debut EP, a car exploded outside the studio. A coincidence? Most likely. But the EP packs so much energy, spontaneous combustion can’t be ruled out.
With a flair for live performance, DC Flow is an original funk-rock band that plays throughout the DC Metro area. On this self-released debut EP, biographical tales of heart breaking divorce, drug arrests and fleeting one-night stands are channeled through a diverse array of musical styles including poppy funk, anthemic hard rock, swing and bossa nova. Recorded with DC indie rock legend, J Robbins (Jawbox, Government Issue, Office of the Future) the DC FLOW EP is an eclectic five song selection of catchy and energetic original music.
The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Frank Black, Funkadelic and Fishbone are just a few of the bands that DC FLOW lead singer Chad Raymond opened for before joining the band. “Over my career I’ve had the privilege of playing with some of the nation’s top funk and ska bands and I truly believe DC FLOW is on that level and the proof is on this EP.” Raymond’s diverse crooning vocal style, combined with a dynamic rhythm section featuring classically trained jazz drummer James Morris and young funk bass protégé, Ryan Miller, embraces influences that include Jimi Hendrix, the Gap Band, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sublime and much more. As a DC-area native, DC FLOW founder and lead guitarist Mike Sanoff grew up attending shows by seminal DC based indie rock bands such as Fugazi and Shudder To Think. Mike explains, “My older brother was in an indie band and worked at the old 9:30 club so I got to see a lot of the best local indie bands. These shows were always filled with a communal raw energy which helped inspire me to start a band.”
The band’s unique brand of pop hooks, funky grooves and raw live energy are prominently featured throughout each song on the EP and are key in the development of DC FLOW’s trademark sound. From hard rock to ska and funk, DC FLOW is not afraid to be who they are, a band that loves to create hook-filled, groove-based, original songs that sound great live and on this debut EP. The DC FLOW EP is available on ITUNES, Amazon, Spotify, and at all live shows.
